What is Paratransit?
Paratransit is intended to provide accessible mobility services for individuals with disabilities who are unable to use other forms of public transportation within a certain service area. Access to vital facilities including pharmacies, dialysis clinics, senior centers, grocery shops, and other essential services is made possible by paratransit services. Across the country, localities and transportation authorities offer complementary paratransit services. These demand-responsive services serve origins and destinations that are 3/4 mile or less from any fixed route in accordance with ADA regulations. A passenger who requires a transportation will normally make a trip request through a contact center. Suntransit provides a range of technology to its customers to facilitate effective travel scheduling. Passengers must satisfy strict qualifying requirements to participate in paratransit services. This is decided throughout the application procedure. HIPAA and other legal standards pertaining to personal health and other information protect all passenger information.
